Agatha Bird's writing career began at age 15, when she wrote a book entitled A Lovely Little Story for Children. She graduated from the University of Minnesota with a degree in English and worked as a librarian for several years. She started her career as an author in 1973 with a novel entitled The All-Girl Detective Agency, the first in a series of humorous mysteries. In 1982, her book "The Secret Garden" was made into a film starring Jane Seymour, Richard Attenborough and Mary Steenburgen. In 1989 she published her best-selling historical romance novel "An Heir of Novron", which she followed two years later with "An Enchanting Legacy." Her most recent work is "A Lady of High Regard," a regency romance about Elizabeth Bassett.
